Standing
Definition:
A physical and mental exercise in which a static posture is maintained for a period of time while sustaining specific Yi to approach a state of full Relaxation. The primary purpose of Standing is to develop Jin through intensive and concentrated practice.
Usage:
- As a noun: “One can effectively refine and strengthen Jin through Standing practice.”
Additional Notes:
Standing practice takes various forms, differing mainly in posture and in how Yi is applied. Some methods emphasize mental focus, while others prioritize physical structure. Because of its intensity and concentrated stillness, Standing is often more effective for developing Jin than practicing Taijiquan Forms alone.
