Sit

Definition:

A core Yi representing a subtle mental state that reflects the intention to sit down.

Usage:

  • As a noun: “When maintaining both Sit and Up, a practitioner’s upper body can be stretched further than by sustaining either one alone.”

Additional Notes:

Sit is a parallel Yi to Sink, but its cultivation requires sufficient muscular strength. However, by adopting a slightly higher and more comfortable stance, practitioners of all ages can engage with the Yi of Sit effectively—reducing strain and minimizing the risk of knee injury.
