Form-Practice

Definition:

Form-Practice refers to the exclusive practice of movements prescribed in a Taijiquan Form. It is the counterpart to Push-Hands, focusing on self-guided exploration rather than partner interaction. 


Usage:

  • As a noun: “Form-Practice is a process in which one examines the interplay between mind, muscles, and movement.”

Additional Notes:

Form-Practice is the foundational exercise in Taijiquan, from which Yi (intention), Relaxation, and Jin begin to emerge and develop.
